Is Danny Rand pretty much the Bruce Wayne of The Defenders?
Danny Rand is the son of Wendell Rand and Heather Duncan. When Danny was nine years old, he went to K’un-Lun with his father, mother, and Harold Meachum, Wendells business partner.
Meachum kills Wendell when he forces him to plunge to his death in hopes of taking over Wendell’s company. Heather also ends up dying while protecting Danny from a pack of wolves. Talk about a sucky vacation.

Danny is taken to K’un-Lun, and Meachum prepares for future attacks.
Danny vows to avenge the death of his parents, so he begins studying martial arts under Lei Kung while in K’un-Lun. He also becomes friends with Miranda Rand-K’ai, who ends up being his half-sister (Wendell dated a woman he met in K’un Lun). Danny also becomes friends with a boy named Conal D’hu-Tsien.
When he turns nineteen, Danny requests and earns an opportunity to win the power of the iron fist from Shou-Lou, The Undying. Danny slays Shou-Lou and obtains the power of the iron fist!

Obviously, his next step is to return to New York so he can seek his vengeance on Ward Meachum. But, Meachum learns of Danny’s intentions and places a bounty on Danny’s head.
Danny ends up fighting costume opponents like Scythe! He eventually overcomes all his opponents, and once he sees the state Meachum is in, he decides to spare his life.

Side note: Harold’s brother, Ward, and daughter Joy, also cause Danny some trouble.
Meachum is eventually killed by the ghostly Ninja! Danny gets blamed for killing him, but Colleen Wing and Misty Knight come in and prove his innocence.
Danny would meet Steel Serpent and get his powers taken by his foe. Danny would soon get his powers back and trap Steel Serpent in the Contemplator’s Anomaly Gem.

Danny and Luke travel to K’un-Lun in pursuit of Master Khan. While in K’un-Lun, Danny learns that most of the civilians have been replaced by the H’ylthri. Danny, along with Luke, lead K’un-Luns warriors against their foes.

Danny overcomes SEVERAL obstacles, like being captured by his uncle Yu-Ti. Danny and Luke stop Master Khan and trap him on Earth.
Master Khan enlists the help of Ward Meachum, Shades, Comanche, and Fera in a plot against Iron Fist.
Fera was actually one of the wolves who had killed Danny’s mother. How is she human? Well…magic really.
Master Khan steals Danny’s power and life force, which nearly kills him; but with the help of Luke, Colleen, Misty, El Aquila, and Rafe Scarfe, he gets it back.
Danny and Luke become friends with a boy named Bobby Wright who could turn into the hero Captain Hero. Little did they know that Bobby was the Super-Skrull who was mesmerized by Master Khan. Khan would also transform into Tyrone King and begin romancing Misty Knight.
If you guys recall from my Misty Knight 1o1, Danny and Misty had a on and off relationship.
Danny would be exposed to some radiation, so he, along with Luke and Colleen, would travel to K’un-Lun to get treatment. Before he could leave, he would be replaced by a H’ylthri. The H’ylthri duplicate heals THE Bobby Wright, but Bobby would suffer a relapse and would beat the duplicate to death.

Thanks to the Super-Skrull, Knight and Wing learn that Danny is alive and in captivity of the H’ylthri. Misty takes Colleen and Namor to K’un-Lun to rescue Danny.
BTW ~ Master Khan gets slain by Namor.
Danny helps other heroes, but he loses faith in himself. So, the Contemplator tasks Danny with reassembling the Anomaly Gem (which was shattered during the H’ylthri invasion).
Danny assembles the Gem, which resurrects Steel Serpent who AGAIN steals Danny’s powers. Crazy, right? Danny gets his power back, and he restarts his relationship with Misty.

Danny takes some funding to expand the Heroes for Hire, so people can believe in heroes again. However, it didn’t last long when Namor (who had ties to the group) sells the extension and their new employers fire Luke and Scott Lang due to their prison records.

During Civil War, Danny doesn’t sign the SRA and was considered an enemy of the state. He gets badly beaten in a fight with Hydra. Danny meets his predecessor Orson Randall. Orson gives Danny the book of the Iron Fist.

Orson sacrifices himself during a fight with Steel Serpent and gives Danny his chi.
Danny takes part in the Heavenly Cities tournament.
Danny returns to Earth to learn that his company has gone under. So, with the funding available, Danny starts the Rand Foundation.
Danny joins the Avengers when Luke is placed in charge.
The new Avenger team would do battle with Agamotto, who was after The Eye of Agamotto (which was in the care of Dr. Strange.)
Danny along with other vigilante takes on Matt Murdock, who is now leader of the hand, during the Shadowland event.

Danny cleanses Matt, and he also becomes friends with Power Man (Victor Alvarez) and takes him under his wing. Also, Danny would AGAIN call off his relationship with Misty and go on to date Joy Meachum.
Danny joins Dr. Strange, Namor, Silver Surfer, and Red She-Hulk to stop Nul (the personification of Hulks negative emotions.)
