“Overwatch” is a online multiplayer shooter created by Blizzard Entertainment. What are my personal thoughts on the game you ask?
It. Is. AWESOME!
I would have reviewed this sooner, but I wanted to have a full, carefully crafted opinion. The game is so fun and enjoyable! Everything about this game is great. Great characters, great maps, and great content. And the lore is spectacular!

The characters in “Overwatch” are really well made! You can tell that Blizzard really put time and effort into creating these characters and making them original! They also created them to fit your style of gaming!
You can play as Reaper, Soldier 76, or Tracer, and charge into the battle and rain some anarchy! Or if you’re more of a defensive (stay behind and defend the payload (a game mode) go with Bastion, Torbjorn, or Reinhardt.
If you’re a type of player who prefers to distance themselves from the battle and pick players off from up high; then go with Hanzo, or Widow Maker!
Heck, you can charge into battle with all these characters and cause mayhem! These characters are made for how you play the game, stealth or charging in head first!
I honestly don’t see why Overwatch doesn’t have a comic series right now! Yes, there are a few one shots and a series on Ana right now; But I feel like a series on the team as a whole, would do very, very well!
The lore in this game is really rich! Just like the characters, Blizzard really put some hard work into the lore. All characters have their own specific back story and some REALLY good lore. Like Tracer for example, her name is Lena Oxton (26 years old). She joined Overwatch experimental flight program and was handpicked to try their newest a prototype teleporting fighter, the Slipstream! On her first flight, the teleportation matrixed, went nuts and disappeared, and she was presumed dead. She would reappear months later, but she changed greatly; her molecules were not in sync with the flow of time (chronal dissociation). She would disappear for hours, even days at a time. She would even have strange dreams about the past (kinda like Vibe in a way.). But thanks to Winston, he created the chronal accelerator which kept her from disappearing and giving her the power to speed up or slow down time!
There are even little dialog snippets that the characters exchange with each other!
The levels (like the characters) are AMAZING! The levels are so well designed and beautiful. These levels contain a lot of places you can walk inside of and good hiding spots, so you can heal up and get back into the fight!

The levels are packed with lore as well! Each map has their own back story and little Easter eggs. On one of the three maps in Nepal, you can find Genji’s room!

The backstory is that after Genji was majorly injured by Hanzo (his brother), he went to Nepal to come to one with his new, robotic self. Nepal is also where he befriends Zenyatta. On the Hanamura map, in the dojo, you can see some remains from Genji and Hanzo’s fight in the animated short “Dragons”.

The game modes are loads of fun! The game really encourages you and the other players to work together, they even tell you tips pretty much saying “Hey, work together guys!”; and I love that about this game! I just admire how much they push for all of us to work together. A lot of us do work together! We all get the job done. The offense heroes go out and hold off the rival team while the defense heroes stay back and protect the objective. The healers keep you alive. Everyone has a part to play in this game.
I do how ever have two, very small complaints. The lack of other modes, and character confusion.
Let me start with the game modes. There’s one game mode where you have to either defend, or capture and take a pay load. Another where you defend or take two points, and another game mode where it’s the same thing, but for two rounds in a row. I hope they add more game modes. I think a team deathmatch would do SO well in a game like this.
Now the character confusion is nothing, it just bugs me to see Reaper and Widow Maker working with heroes like Winston or Tracer after they fought them and tried to kill them. I don’t know if in this universe’s timeline that at some point between those events and the game release they hugged it out and are all good with each other now, or they still hate each other, but that’s just me. Either way, I love the game.
Is this game worth getting? Heck, yes! This game is fun, enjoyable, and just fantastic over all! You will not regret buying this game. One little thing I like to do while playing, is listen to music while playing, it’s pretty nice. Nothing like playing as Soldier 76 ( Who I play all the time (next to Reaper) delivering a payload while listening to Bohemian Rhapsody.
If you don’t have Overwatch or can’t decide if you want to get it and play it. I highly encourage you to get it!
